Environments and Habitats explores the artistic element of texture through the context of the environments and habitats that a variety of animal species live in. Students will develop their knowledge of animal welfare by learning about what different types of animals need to be comfortable, safe, happy and healthy in the environments and habitats that they live in.
Students will communicate this learning through the creation of two art pieces. The creation of a collage will allow them to explore how actual textures can be incorporated into art. Following this, they will explore how to create implied textures by re-creating their image using paint and a variety of painting tools to create the look of the different textures.
